Group Cognitive Stimulation Program
Activities play an important role in dementia care. They support wellbeing, recognise abilities and strengths, and help the person maintain a sense of identity and connection with others.
Finding meaningful activities can, however, feel challenging for care partners. That’s why I started a Cognitive Stimulation Programme. The programme is inspired by Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST), a gentle, evidence-based approach designed to support thinking, memory, communication, and social interaction for people living with dementia.
My aim is to offer people living with dementia and their teammates the opportunity to spend enjoyable, meaningful time together while participating in engaging and stimulating activities. The group setting also creates opportunities to meet others, share experiences, and build a sense of connection and community throughout the 7-week program.
Activities may include movement-based games, word games, quizzes, music, conversation, creative activities, and much more!
This is a safe and supportive space to explore different activities, discover what works (and what doesn’t), and build a personalised toolkit of ideas to use when you need them most.
