Time To Shine Group CST Programme
Celebrating Strengths, Connection, and Wellbeing

Activities play an important role in dementia care. They support wellbeing, recognise abilities and strengths, and help the person maintain a sense of identity and connection with others.

Finding meaningful activities can, however, feel challenging for care partners. That’s why I started the Time To Shine Programme. The programme is based on Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST), a gentle, evidence-based approach designed to support thinking, memory, communication, and social interaction for people living with dementia.

My aim is to offer people living with dementia and their teammates the opportunity to spend enjoyable, meaningful time together while participating in engaging and stimulating activities. The group setting also creates opportunities to meet others, share experiences, and build a sense of connection and community throughout the 7-week program.

Activities may include movement-based games, word games, quizzes, music, conversation, creative activities, and much more!

This is a safe and supportive space to explore different activities, discover what works (and what doesn’t), and build a personalised toolkit of ideas to use when you need them most.

The name has changed, the aim has not!

Frequently Asked Questions

What activities can I expect?

There will be a lot of different activities during the program. We will be playing games, such as Basketball and Darts. We will also be doing some arts and craft activities. Word games will also be in the program.

Any activity you would like to try? Let me know about these!

What if I need to cancel my participation to the entire program?

If you cancel more than 24 hours before the programme starts, you will receive a refund of all fees paid, except for any payment processing fees. This is because payment processing fees are included in the booking price shown, but these fees are not refunded by the payment platform.

If you cancel within 24 hours of the programme start time, or after the programme has started, any refund will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

What if I miss a session?

If you have booked the 14-session option, missed individual sessions cannot usually be rescheduled. No refund will be given for unattended sessions.

If you have booked the 7-session option, you may request to reschedule a missed session within 1 week of the missed session, subject to availability.

What if Florence cancels a session?

If I need to cancel a session, I will offer a replacement date where possible. If a replacement session cannot be arranged, or the replacement date is not suitable, you will be offered a refund based on the pro-rated price of that session.

Who is considered a teammate?

The programme is designed to support the participation of the participant living with dementia together with a teammate, unless another arrangement has been agreed in advance.

A teammate may be a family member, friend, neighbour, companion, or another suitable adult chosen by the participant living with dementia or the person making the booking.

The teammate does not need to be a professional care partner or the participant's main care partner.

Does the teammate have to be the same person every time?

No, they do not have to be the same person every time. Different teammates may attend different sessions.

Are there any conditions for the person living with dementia to participate on their own?

A participant living with dementia may attend on their own only if this has been agreed with me in advance.

For solo attendance to be suitable, the participant must be able to:

  • arrive and leave safely;
  • participate safely without supervision;
  • use the toilet independently; and
  • take part within the limited scope of this programme.

I may decide that solo attendance is no longer suitable if needs change or if the arrangement no longer feels appropriate, safe, or workable.

Note: This group is open to anyone living with dementia and their teammates.
If you have any concerns, feel free to contact me directly.
