Why join the workshop?
Have you ever left a visit feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or emotionally drained?
Supporting someone living with dementia can sometimes feel unpredictable. What begins as a simple interaction can quickly become stressful, leaving both of you feeling unsettled.
In this interactive workshop, we'll explore why these moments happen and, more importantly, what you can do about them. Using the N.U.T.S. model of stress, you'll discover practical strategies to recognise stress early, respond with confidence, and create interactions that feel calmer and more positive for both you and your teammate.
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a better understanding of stress, increased confidence in handling difficult situations, and practical tools you can use in everyday life.
Together, we'll explore how to:
- Recognise signs of stress in yourself and your teammate
- Understand what can trigger stress in everyday situations
- Reduce stress before it escalates
- Adapt your approach to create calmer interactions
- Discover activities that help promote a sense of calm and connection
- Respond with confidence when things don't go as planned
