Have you ever left a visit feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or drained?
Dementia can make everyday situations feel unpredictable. What starts as a simple interaction can quickly become stressful — for both of you.
This workshop focuses on understanding stress, how it is triggered, what can be done to lower stress or even not let it join the party altogether. We also discuss ways to de-escalate a situation before it becomes overwhelming.
At the end of this workshop, you’ll leave with increased confidence in your ability to handle difficult moments. Knowing you have practical tools to support both yourself and your loved one.
In this 2-hour Workshop, we explore why certain situations feel so intense and what you can do in the moment to steady yourself. Using the N.U.T.S. model of stress, you’ll learn simple, practical ways to:
-
Recognise signs of stress in yourself and your loved one
-
Pause and reset before reacting
-
Adjust the way you engage with your loved one when things don’t go as planned
This session is not about “doing it perfectly.”
It’s about understanding stress — and learning how to navigate it with more confidence.
