Dementia-Specialised Companionship

Undivided Attention, Tailored to Your Loved One Living in a Care Facility

Life Continues

Life doesn't stop because someone moves into a care home.

That's true for both the person living with dementia and the people who love them.

You may have work, children, your own health to look after, or simply live too far away to visit as often as you'd like. Even when you do visit, you may find yourself wondering how to make the time together meaningful or whether your loved one is engaged and enjoying their days between visits. Sometimes, the pressure to make every visit "count" gets in the way, making it harder to simply enjoy the time you still have together.

Care home staff work incredibly hard to support residents' daily needs and create opportunities for meaningful activities. They do an amazing job caring for many people at once.

Yet you may wish for your loved one to have more dedicated one-to-one time. Time where the focus is entirely on them. Time to laugh, reminisce, explore, enjoy favourite activities, or simply sit with someone who is fully present.

That's where I come in.

Undivided Attention, Tailored to Your Loved One

I provide dementia-specialised one-to-one companionship for people living with dementia, creating experiences that are tailored to each person's history, interests, strengths, and way of experiencing the world. Rather than focusing on what has been lost, we build on what remains, helping each person experience purpose, belonging, enjoyment, and connection in everyday life.

Drawing on a Master's degree in Psychology, training in Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and the Positive Approach to Care®, and experience supporting people living with dementia in Switzerland, the United States, and England, I adapt every visit to meet the person exactly where they are.

If this sounds like something you would like for your loved one, I'd love to hear from you. Book a free, no-obligation conversation, and together we'll explore how I can tailor my visits to your loved one's unique needs and interests.

What You Can Expect From This Service

Each session focuses on:

  • Building trust and emotional safety

  • Conversation, reminiscence and self-expression

  • Enjoyable, achievable activities (music, sensory items, creative tasks, gentle stimulation)

  • Physical activities and games adapted to their abilities (gentle movement, ball games, seated exercises)

  • Relaxing activities (hand massages, sensory time)

In addition to my visits, you will receive regular photos capturing your loved one's special moments, as well as strategies you can then use during your visits.

Important Note

This service is not intended to replace the care provided by staff. Care teams in residential settings do an incredible job supporting residents and keeping them safe and comfortable. Having worked in care facilities in both Switzerland and the United States, I have seen firsthand the dedication, compassion, and hard work that go into supporting each person, often around the clock.

Care staff regularly provide one-to-one support during important moments such as mealtimes, getting up, personal care, and bedtime. At the same time, you may wish for your loved one to have additional time for meaningful engagement and connection. Because staff also have many responsibilities, this extra time is not always available.

My service is designed to complement the care your loved one already receives by offering additional one-to-one engagement, meaningful activities, and personalised support — helping to enrich daily life while working alongside the care already in place.
